This post was created with regard to reports by Nyooomie and Xora of recent permanent bans abuses by someone in the administration. Cel did not impose kind rules merely because she is a kind person. There is more to it than you think. Those griefers, hackers, cheaters and abusive players have a problem, something that causes them to be that way. Permanent banning them or punishing them does not stop them from being that way and neither would it make the problem go away. It would instead make the problem worse. If you are understanding towards them, it helps them, prevents the problem from getting worse and prevents other actions caused by the problem such as going to other servers spreading rumors or griefing like the Nobody incident, which could cause further problems. We understand why you have permanently banned them and how hard it is if you did temporary bans instead. But permanent bans have to stop.
This may be offensive and triggering to some. Apologies in advance. The problem we are talking about here is mental illness. By that I do not mean they are “psychotic people who go around murdering people”. Psychotic people aren’t criminals - that is a stereotype thinking. They are not who they really are, just controlled by their illness and these illnesses aren’t like regular coughs or mood swings. Not even scientists understand these illnesses completely. A report by the world health organisation states that there are more deaths by suicide than homicide or any war in human history. It is a silent pandemic and unless something is done, people who suffers from mental illness will just keep getting worse. And don’t you dare say they do not deserve to live. They are just like us. They are human and are fully capable of doing things we do and some do things better than us. Their illness makes it seem otherwise. It is like saying the poor do not deserve to live and I’m not implying that the rich should die but many of the poor deserves to live more than the rich. You cannot understand these illnesses unless you have them or have some medical knowledge about them. Likewise, you cannot understand the poor without being poor.
As attempted by Cel, Xora and other admins, being understanding and friendly towards them have more positive results than if the opposite is done. You might be able to do it if you try. But if you’ll never be able to if you don’t. You might not see positive results instantly, but you will see them. We know you are trying to help. We are really grateful for that and for all other contributions you have made. If we’ve misunderstood you, please do tell us. This post also concerns everyone in the administration. Please understand why we have the rules and why it is important that you follow them. That is all. (x
